Google Wave Dies a Fiery Death!
So Google Wave was supposed to change everything… but who really cared? Wave was a new instant message/chat client where you can easily share files, and work together with multiple people in real time. I had a pretty good feeling that it wouldn’t amount to anything, and after the initial hype Wave was a no-show.
I think I know a couple people that had Wave, and you had to ask for an invite if you wanted to use it. We tried it out in our office and yup, it was a chat client alright. Wow.
It was a cool idea, and I’m sure there was some sort of reason behind Google spending all that money to develop it, but what would they gain from a chat client?
At least with Google Chrome they can collect your browsing trends and habits. Oh, you didn’t know that by default “automatically send usage statistics to Google” is checked by default when you install Chrome? You think they spent all that money making a browser out of the goodness of their hearts?
Google Wave is dead, so what? Nobody used it, so nobody cares.
