New Sony Pellicle A33 and A55 DSLR Cameras Leaked

If there is going to be any real breakthrough in digital camera technology, what is it going to be? The micro four thirds format is pretty amazing, just can’t wait for it to become more affordable. It looks like Sony is hoping that a faster DSLR will spur people to buy, buy, buy!

PhotoRumors.com has this information to offer, as well as some photos of upcoming Sony DSLR cameras, the A33 and A55. There’s nothing exciting about the photos, and how fast do you really need your DSLR to be anyway?

This is a continuation of the previously rumored specs for the upcoming Sony Alpha models. The A33 and A55 models are rumored to be a pellicle camera.

Sony α33:

* 14MP sensor
* ISO range of 100-12800
* 1080i video
* 15 AF points, some of them cross-point
* 7 fps
* dual memory slots (not sure what type)

Sony α55:

* 16MP sensor
* ISO range of 100-12800
* 1080i video
* 15 AF points, some of them cross-point
* 10 fps
* dual memory slots (not sure what type)
* built-in GPS

New Canon SD4500 and SX130 IS Cameras Released

New Canon SD4500 and SX130 IS Cameras Released

Digital camera manufacturers keep cranking out new models trying to get you to spend your hard earned money on a new camera every few months. Do you honestly need a new camera if you’re happy with what you’ve got and it takes great pictures? Probably not.

If your camera needs to be repaired, and the repair costs more than the value of the camera (make sure you check with us and don’t rely on what Canon, Nikon or Sony tells you the repair will cost!!) or if it’s been dropped in water (sorry, but forget about trying to repair water damage) then yeah looking for a new camera is a good idea.

The Canon SD4000 and SD4500 have a CMOS sensor instead of a CCD, and the SX130 IS is a 12x optical zoom with image stabilization which is pretty darn cool. Here is a bit of the blurb from Canon about the new cameras…

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., August 19, 2010 – Further elevating the “Power” in PowerShot, Canon U.S.A., a leader in digital imaging, today announced three new high-performance PowerShot cameras – the PowerShot S95, the SD4500 IS and the SX130 IS Digital cameras. These cameras achieve photographic brilliance with Canon’s HS (High Sensitivity) SYSTEM for improved low-light shooting in the S95 and SD4500 IS cameras, High Definition (HD) video recording, High Dynamic Range (HDR) in the S95 camera and a more intelligent Smart AUTO mode, among a range of others. The pro-shooter seizing the last summer sunsets with the S95 camera, the dad recording his son leaving for college on the SD4500 IS model, the aunt capturing a photo of her nephew’s football team with the SX130 IS camera – these new PowerShot cameras showcase extraordinary image quality with every shot.

Adobe Photoshop Express for iPad and iPhone

Adobe Photoshop Express for iPad and iPhone

I can see the usefulness of Photoshop for iPad, even though it doesn’t have a camera… but would you really edit photos on your iPhone? I guess it does have a fairly good camera, but the screen is so small how can you do a decent job editing photos on it? If you’ve got either one, check out the app here:

http://mobile.photoshop.com/iphone/

try it out and let us know what you think!

Has Pentax Lost Their Minds With The K-x Camera?

Has Pentax Lost Their Minds With The K-x Camera?

So Pentax used to be well known for making some very nice 35mm film cameras back in the day. Heck, I still have my Pentax K1000 35mm, but it’s been decades since it’s seen a roll of film.

Pentax digital cameras have never impressed me and I’ve never recommended them to anyone. I haven’t had the chance to try their K-x digital SLR, but I’ve seen it get good reviews. I think they are trying really hard to market this camera, hopefully it’s a good one. They are trying something that has become common with pocket sized point and shoot cameras, multiple colors, but with the K-x they have taken it to the next level!

At first the K-x was available in solid black, white and red when normally DSLR’s are only offered in silver or black. The white and red were interesting options to be sure. Now the K-x comes in: Navy, Purple, Blue, Green and Orange! (Maybe they are Spongebob fans and REALLY liked the “Pretty Patties” episode!)

But what’s really going to knock your socks off are the special edition K-x cameras…

Rainbow K-x

Japan's Kore Ja Nai Robot K-x

Pink K-x

Which one do you choose? Gotta catch ‘em all!!
