The iPad
- is big with a 9.7″ LCD screen (like a netbook)
- It can run tons of apps… but only the ones you buy from the Apple app store. Hey a netbook runs thousands of programs you can get anywhere for Windows…
- It has wireless networking only… like a netbook oh wait, netbooks have RJ45 networking ports
- It has no MULTI-TASKING like an iPhone but a netbook can run tons of programs at once
- NO Adobe Flash support!! With a netbook you’re not handcuffed
- Stock iPad only supports slow Edge wireless internet, 3G is extra!
- Has a whopping 1Ghz CPU
- Has no stylus/handwriting support
- Costs $130 to add 3G support
- Costs $30 per month for unlimited data (internet)
- Costs $200 to add a whopping 48GB bigger hard drive, and no support for an external 500GB drive costing only $75 from Best Buy… that I can plug into my netbook
The iPad is $700 for 64GB of storage, plus 3G access is $130, so $830 plus tax AND $30 per month for what? Do you want to pay $900 for something that does… well… nothing new and not everything you want it to do?
If you want something that can do everything the iPad can do, plus so much more, why not buy a netbook for $300?
I think I’ll keep my money in my pocket and Apple can keep their iPad to themselves. If you have this kind of money to waste on this product then go for it, and I’m sure you will be happy with it. Those of us without money to waste will not be buying an iPad. Ever.
I own not only this site, Darntoothysam for digital camera repair, but also a small site where you can buy a new digital camera, so I do like to keep up with technology and cool gadgets that could actually help us out on an daily basis, but I see no reason whatsoever to buy an iPad.
