Canon Powershot G9 No Power Repair

Does your Canon G9 have no power? If so you're not alone.

We have repaired almost 140 Canon G9 cameras with no power in the last two years or so, but have noticed a disturbing trend with this repair.

No longer do we have to just find the missing screws that are loose somewhere inside the camera and replace the DC/DC board to fix the camera. After completing the steps above, we now find that the vast majority of cameras still will not power! This means that the fuse on the mainboard has been tripped as well and needs to be replaced.

A new mainboard is $150, so it's out of the question to replace it. Thankfully we have found an extremely high-end soldering business that can replace the fuse for us on these boards. You wouldn't believe how small it is!

We have stopped taking in new Canon G9 no power repairs until we are certain we can repair the mainboard if the camera will still not power after replacing the DC/DC.
